Why take the 1% Pledge?
The 1% Pledge is a simple, easy, and low-cost way to start your giving journey while having outsized impact. By donating to the world’s most effective charities dedicated to addressing preventable childhood diseases, you can help reduce child mortality and end preventable child death globally by giving only 1% of your current or future income.

How often should I donate?
Donating on a recurring basis, such as monthly, is significantly more impactful for most donors than donating sporadically. On average, recurring donors remain active for longer and give more over their lifetime of engagement with nonprofits compared to sporadic donors.
How do I modify/cancel my pledge?
You can sign in at donational.org/login to manage your Pledge using the email with which you signed up. Donational is our proprietary donation management platform.
How do I get receipts for my donation to deduct from taxes?
You can get receipts for individual donations from your account at donational.org/login using the email with which you signed up. Donational is our proprietary donation management platform.
How do I manage my pledge if I started donating before 2018?
If your pledge started before 2018, you can log in to Network for Good to manage your donation or call them at (888) 284-7978, 8 am - 7 pm EST, Monday through Friday. When you call, please note that your donation is routed through One for the World to the National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), so NPT may be useful when you are trying to get support on your account.
We encourage all donors to migrate to Donational, our proprietary donation management platform, so One for the World can more easily manage your donation. If you would like to migrate your donation, contact support@1fortheworld.org.
Can I defer my pledge start date?
Of course! Our proprietary donation management platform provides a ‘future-dated Pledge’ option. This allows you to select a start date up to five (5) years into the future. We specifically designed this to allow students to pledge now, but start donating after graduation.
Is the pledge legally binding?
No. The pledge is a personal commitment, not a legal contract. Nothing binds you to it beyond your own word. You may modify or cancel your pledge at any time by logging into your account at donational.org/login.
What if I want to give more than 1%?
If you want to give more than 1%, you may modify the percentage of your pledge at anytime in Donational. If you are exploring a pledge of at least 10%, we suggest you consider the 10% Pledge through Giving What We Can. Many of our staff and supporters give this amount, and you can fulfill your Giving What We Can pledge by giving through One for the World.
If you take the 10% Pledge, be sure to notify us via email at info@1fortheworld.org. This data is valuable to us as it helps us track our impact, raise funds for our operating costs, and evaluate the success of our programs.
